What to check in your download
Keep the original if you will need to correct an answer later. Flattening fixes supported form appearances; it is not secure redaction and does not prevent a PDF editor from changing page content. Review any signatures separately.
If the result is not what you expected
No fields found means the file has no supported interactive fields; it may already be a flat page or a scan. An appearance error means a field has no saved rendering. Save a fresh reviewed copy in the original viewer before trying again. XFA forms are unsupported.
Limits and what to review
Fields need saved appearances, and XFA forms are unsupported. Flattening form fields does not rasterize the whole document, remove every annotation, or sanitize hidden information.
